Apple May Be Heading Away From Intel Processors For Mac And Towards Their Own Mobile/Computer Chip

This year has seen basically a refresh of the whole Mac line up from Apple, with the most recent updates coming from a new 2012 iMac and 2012 Mac Mini. Both of these run in the latest Ivy Bridge version of Intel’s processors, however recent rumours are indicating that in the not too distant future Apple will be ditching Intel for its processors in favour of its own designed ARM processors.

The report comes courtesy of Bloomberg who cite inside sources close to Apple’s research, telling us that Apple believes mobile device chips will eventually be running its computers.

New Patent Indicates At The Next 2012 iMac Having Siri

20120918-094923.jpg A patent recently filed by Apple that has been brought to our attention by Patently Apple has indicated at them possibly brining the famous Siri voice recognition service to the upcoming 2012 iMac. The patent itself points at “Electronic Devices with Voice Command and Contextual Data Processing Capabilities”, an accurate description of basically what Siri does.

Apples voice recognition is almost a year old now after being premiered with the iPhone 4S last October, however in Apples most recent keynote they revealed that the iPad and new iPod Touch 5G will also now be enabled to run Siri with iOS 6.

Suppliers Now Shipping 13 Inch Retina MacBook Pro’s And Refreshed iMac Models

We haven’t had a report from the rumour mill that is DigiTimes for quite a while now, but we now have one backing up previous rumours of the 13 inch retina MacBook Pro that’s expected later this year.
The Taiwanese site supports previous reports saying that the smaller 13 inch model of the MacBook Pro has begun to be shipped from suppliers ready to go on sale some time before the year ends. 27 Inch iMac Models Going Out Of Stock Ahead Of Rumoured 2012 Refresh

After getting yet more news of a 2012 iMac release date being imminent, we can now see that some current iMac models are going out of stock across the USA. Apple’s New 2012 iMac Will Receive A Redesign But No Retina Display In October

Rumours concerning a new 2012 iMac release date have been flowing around since early this year, with a new model largely expected to be released back in the summer. However various rumours have now indicated that this new Apple all in one will in fact premiere before the year is over.
Well KIG securities analyst Ming Chi-Kuo has provided us with details of this new iMac and has claimed that although this will be a redesign on the current iMac, it will however not follow suit with all the other new Apple products and have a retina display.
