Pretty much ever since the release of the iPad mini the only criticism it has had is its lack of retina display. Because of this the attention has quickly turned to the iPad mini 2 release date which is certain to show its face in 2013. The big upgrade expected for the device is of course the super high resolution retina display, and a bit of news that has come in this week supports this rumour further.

Retina iPad Mini 2 And The Fifth Generation iPad 5 Rumoured To Debut In March

The unexpected release of the 4th generation iPad this October, combined with iPhone 5S rumours stacking up has lead to many believing Apple will now adopt a product refresh at a rate of 2 a year. This will supposedly involve one minor and one major update a year, opposed to the current yearly rotation.

Analyst of Topika Capital Markets Brian White revealed that his industry sources at CES 13 had indicated 2 new product releases from Apple in March. These would be the second generation iPad mini 2, and the iPad 5.

iPad Mini 2 With A Retina Display And Multiple Colour Options To Be Available Next Summer [Analyst]

The iPad mini didn’t have to be released long untill the news was stirring up about the next iPad mini 2. The smaller tablet from Apple is great but the one thing it suffers with on reviews is its rather weak display and lack if retina quality.

The iPhone 5 Produces Record Sales Figures Running Up Over 2 Million Pre Orders In Just 24 Hours

AT&T announced earlier today that the iPhone 5 was the fastest selling iPhone ever, and now Apple have confirmed this by revealing that the iPhone 5 racked up an astonishing 2 million Pre orders in the first 24hours of being available. This more than doubles that of the iPhone 4S last year, and is not surprising considering shipping times for the iPhone 5 slipped to two weeks just two after Pre orders were available, compared to the 4S which took a whole 24hrs.

Apple’s iPad Mini To Be Released At Separate October Event [Report]

Following reports that Apple have recently asked retailers to make space for a new iPad range, we have a report from reliable source AllThingsD today claiming that the new 7.85 inch iPad mini will be released at its own dedicated event in October of this year.

The only previous release date rumour we had to go on was that it would be released at the same September 12th launch of the iPhone 5, but this new October date seems a lot more likely and is also being backed up by other analysts on firming two separate events for the products.
