With all the news on an iPad mini, iPhone 5 and new 2012 iMac coming in the next few months can we really take another new product from Apple? Well it looks as though this will have to be the case as inside sources over at iMore have claimed that September will also be the month we are premiered the new 5th generation iPod touch.

The source claims that this new device will be unveiled at the same event as the new iPhone and iPad Mini, however the event will mainly be reserved for those two big launches with the iPod touch being announced more on the side.

The design and specs of the iPod Touch 5G are still relatively unknown and we do not have the luxury of having any leaked images such as with the iPhone 5. however what we have been told is that the next iPod touch will also feature the new smaller 19 pin doc connector we have heard so much about.
The new dock connector has been one of the more certain rumours going around about the next iPhone, being backed up by the fact it can also be seen in the leaked images. The new connector is expected to become universal among iOS devices much like the current larger 30 pin connector, and so the next iPod Touch 5G having this feature as well makes perfect sense.
