News has come in from Taiwanese source Digitimes once again, this time citing industry sources that Apple’s secondary supplier Pegatron have received the first order to start production of the upcoming sixth generation iPhone that people are calling the ‘iPhone 5′.

As you may know Apple’s primary manufacturer is Foxconn, but they still rely on Pegatron to produce a substantial amount of both iPhone 4S and new iPad units. The supplier is said to be downgrading its motherboard production department in order to make way for a higher production of new iPhone units.

We already know Apple’s largest producer Fixconn have just undergone a huge recruitment scheme to hire 20,000 new workers for the iPhone 5 so it seems the new device will start being produced imminently. With a predicted October release date, starting production now means Apple will be looking to have a huge backlog of millions of units all ready to sell on launch day.
