One of the joys of the App store is that it caters for absolutely everyone, you can be battling against a zombie apocalypse in a heavy gaming app and then immediately switch to a creative mind mapping program to help you plan out a particular piece of work. Well here we have a great iPad app that is made for not much more than relaxing, and it’s very good at it!
The interactive Starry Night app allows you to listen to soothing music while softly manipulating one of Vincent Van Gogh’s masterpieces ‘Starry Night’. You have a selection of three pieces of looped soothing music to choose from, you can change the speed of the music and decide whether you want your on screen manipulations to be flowing curves or straight lines.
It’s a very minimalistic app but for something of this genre that’s exactly what you want. I’ve had a play about with it myself and the idea of listening to calming music and softly sweeping around the beautiful piece of art seems to go together perfectly.
It’s currently on the App store for £1.49 and if that’s the kind of thing your looking for, something just to chill out to, then it’s well worth it. Check out the video of the App in motion below and you can get an idea of how it works.
