An Exclusive Look Inside The Foxconn Factory And See How The iPad Is Made

Published on April 12th, 2012 by in iPad

Robert Schmitz of Marketplace was allowed an exclusive look by Apple into their famous Foxconn factory in China. What’s better than that? They were allowed to film it.

Schmitz is only the second ever reporter that has been allowed inside the walls at Foxconn, and the visit was spurred on by all the recent claims of bad working conditions for the 250,000 workers at the factory. In the video above we see exclusive footage inside the plant taking us briefly through a day at the Foxconn factory and showing us how the iPad is made.

The work seems very repetitive but you still can’t deny the huge amount of jobs they are making for the economy, just on the day of filming there were over 500 hopefuls outside the factory queuing just to apply for a job. At present Foxconn are already in the process of recruiting 20,000 new workers to help with the production of the new iPhone 5, and despite the huge number it still doesn’t look like getting a job there will be easy.
