Unteathered jailbreak for iOS 5 could be coming soon

Published on November 7th, 2011 by in iPhone

Those of you that are into jail breaking your iOS devices will be patiently waiting for an unteathered jailbreak to be released for iOS 5. Today 5 hours ago the iOS hacker Pod2G announced on his twitter that he has found a bug that can unteather iOS 5.

The hacker’s words today via twitter were:

“@pod2g: Hey jailbreaking friends, I’ve found a bug that can unteather iOS 5. Don’t expect a release soon, but I’m gonna work hard on it”

For those who arn’t that clued up about jailbreaking, a tethered jailbreak is already available for iOS 5, however with a tethered jailbreak every time your device is turned off or re-boots, your jailbreak and all of it’s settings are lost.
An unteathered jailbreak however is much harder for developers to crack, however if your device is restarted it will still be jailbroken. So for obvious reasons the unteathered jailbreak is what everyone wants and is waiting for.

All iOS hackers and developers have been working furiously to get an unteathered jailbreak, and this seems to be the biggest breakthrough yet. Although he does say himself don’t expect anything soon, we know that it’s possible and now it’s just the waiting game to see what developer comes up with it first!

Well be keeping you updated on the subject of an iOS 5 jailbreak as soon as news is available.
