Apple has the smartphone market pretty much under its belt, with pretty much anyone that can afford it, buying an iPhone. However Android still has the majority share in the smartphone market when it comes to people using its operating system. This is largely down to the fact that they also have a number of low budget phones on offer, but running androids very successful operating platform.

It has been rumoured that Apple next aims to tackle this market by introducing a lower budget verswion of its iPhone. This would run Apples usual bulletproof iOS software, but have downgraded internals, compared to its flagship and most powerful iPhone.

There have been a number of rumours on how this new low budget iphone is going to come about, the first is that when the new iphone 5 is released this October, the iPhone 3gs will be given a slight facelift, and still be available for sale at a lower price than the iPhone 4 & 5.

However from various reports and research, we suspect that along with the release of Apple’s next iPhone, the iPhone 4 will be made available at a lower budget, and possibly with only 8gb capacity to provide an even lower cost model. This next iPhone 4 is also likely to include a plastic front and back, making costs lower still and also overcoming the issue of the glass smashing easily, which the iPhone 4 has been criticised for. An idea we can see Apple already have in mind as their newly rleased iPhone 4 in ‘white’ only comes with plastic fronts and backs to prevent shattering. Something the older black iPhone 4 does not have.

The release of this lower budget iPhone would be expected to be around October, along with Apple’s next iPhone4s/5. We hope Apple does do this as it would make the versitility and features of an iPhone available to a lot more people, who would otherwise settle for a lower budget Android or Blackberry!
